Please join me in congratulating Principal Julie Locey on some well-deserved recognition. This Sunday, the congregation at Transfiguration Lutheran Church (Irondequoit) will celebrate their annual BOLD WOMEN'S DAY. This is a day where they honor Rochester-area women who act boldly in their faith on a regular basis. These women work, volunteer, and provide services to people all over our community, and they typically seek no recognition for all their good works. And, I'm very pleased to tell you that Julie has been selected as one of six honorees this year. As all of you are aware, Julie lives the mission of our school through her faith, and is an exceptional role model for our students and her peers here at Kearney. She does her job in the most selfless way, always with the interests of our students top on her mind; I'm grateful for her leadership and the way her spiritual life guides her on a daily basis.
Other honorees include: Margaret "Margy" Mayk, Co-Founder & Director of Step by Step of Rochester, Inc., Maggie Harris, Founder of Maggie's Kids Program and Director of Community Lutheran Ministry of Joseph Avenue, Rochester. Claire Klemer, Northeast Storybook Project - Jail Ministries of Episcopal Diocese of Rochester Florence Rohrbaugh, Irondequoit Community and Lutheran Programs Volunteer Janet Shove, Irondequoit Community and Lutheran Programs Volunteer
