BISHOP KEARNEY PARENTS ASSOCIATION
MEETING MINUTES
March 12, 2007
ATTENDANCE: Kathy Eastman, Judy DiGuardi, Lauren & Pat Bates, Noreen Farrell, Wanda & Paul Maxwell, Angela Pignata, Jerry Grundman, Lisa Mastrella, Shelly Norton, Terry Slocum, Maria Marconi, Kathy Walker.
OPENING PRAYER: Wanda Maxwell
January MINUTES: were approved. The February 2007 meeting was cancelled due to weather
Treasurer's report not available.
UPDATE FROM ADMINISTRATION: Administration was not able to be present at tonight's meeting.
SPORTS BOOSTERS – update from Paul Maxwell
· Athletic Director – Sharon Kowalski was appointed as new athletic director to replace Pat Grow
· Winter sports are over. It was a good season. Spring sports are just beginning.
· Winter sports award evening will be held March 20 @ 6:30 p.m.
· Spring sports do not really have concessions – this is continuing to be evaluated as a possibility
· Food handling inservice/training that was to be held earlier had to rescheduled – this will be held on March 31 – 9:00 – 1:30 @ BK. So far 5 people are signed up for BK and 2 people from Keenan's will attend also
· The SEARCH continues to find committee members and a SB President to replace Paul & Wanda
PAST EVENTS:
· Family Fun Night – Many volunteers came to assist with this event. Unfortunately the weather was very bad and the turn out for families was very small. Those that attended had a great time.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
· Open House – March 28th – Wednesday –
· Entrance Exam for incoming students – March 31
· NHS Induction – April 24
KEARNEY KARNIVALE
The Event is being held April 28 and it is a Mardi Gras theme.
Open Discussion:
Lauren Bates, as a senior rep., talked about the Pace Party. – but they may need more this year.
- GOLISANO ANNOUNCEMENT - Donna DeDee has asked parents to write letters of support to Mr. Golisano. He has received letters and very much has appreciated. He can be reached @

- Bingo: We will need to get a Bingo update as well as a Treasurer's Report for our next meeting to see where we are with funds and how Bingo is doing.
- Jerry is recommending that we very seriously consider forming an ad hoc Fund Raising Committee for next year
NEXT YEAR'S COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
Please begin to think about if you are interested in staying on the BKPA committee for next year and please approach friends/parents who may also be interested in joining the committee. It would be very helpful to have class reps in place when the directory is printed so that their names can be listed.
