Life Insurance

Life insurance may be an especially attractive gift vehicle if you own a policy that is no longer needed for its original purpose. In addition, those who qualify for low-cost premiums may find it more affordable and convenient to plan a significant gift using life insurance. By naming Bishop Kearney as the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you can take an immediate tax deduction for the accumulated cash value of the policy (if any) and a future deduction for any subsequent premiums which you pay.

Named Scholarships

Many donor and friends have established private scholarships to assist Bishop Kearney students. Scholarships that are need and merit based have been offered to students in good academic standing who meet the criteria established by the donor(s) to the scholarship. This is a fantastic way to directly impact a student who wants to be here but their family is struggling with tuition.

Over the years, several donors have chosen to give a bequest to Bishop Kearney through their wills, trusts, annuities or IRA’s. Through a bequest provision, you can designate a specific amount of money, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after other bequests are satisfied. Charitable giving through your estate not only benefits the school, but can also benefit your heirs. Bequests that reduce the size of your taxable estate can reduce gift and estate taxes.
