Bishop Kearney will present the full-scale musical “The Wizard of Oz” for two performances at the BK Auditorium on May 2, 2015 at 7:00 pm and May 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm.

The Wizard of Oz is a heartwarming tale of magic and fantasy, good and evil, and family and friendship. Based on L. Frank Baum’s novel and the 1939 film, this musical adaption of The Wizard of Oz was originally produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company in London in 1987. The score is full of tunes from the timeless film such as “We’re Off To See the Wizard,” “If I Only Had A Brain,” “The Merry Old Land of Oz,” and – of course – “Over The Rainbow.” The cast is led by Rachel Farrell as Dorothy, the charming young girl from Kansas. The supporting cast includes Jyl Russotti as Aunt Em, MacKenzie Reed as Glinda the Good Witch, Emma Mittiga as Miss Gulch/the Wicked Witch, Shyanne Lindsay as the Scarecrow, Tahime Menelas as the Tin Man, Anngelica Eshesimua as the Cowardly Lion, Spencer Cattalani as Professor Marvel, Christopher Jackson as The Wizard, and Kyle Johnson as Uncle Henry/Oz Guard. Completing the cast are the ensemble and dancers including Kenny Debot, Zoe Ferraro, Annie Heyen, Kaitlyn Sweeney, Lily Carroll, Dorothy Lee, Julia McMahon, Maggie Martin, Lilianna Hanning, Christina Aldridge, Maria Palmeri, George Stanton, and Mina Kim. Also on stage are students from St. Kateri as the munchkins.
