The Gift of Warmth

December 19, 2014

In January, the Builders Club will be holding our 5th Annual “Give the Gift of Warmth” Winter Clothing Drive. We will be collecting gently-used winter-wear, such as coats, hats and mittens, for the students of the Wilson Foundation Academy. Wilson Foundation has scholars from Preschool through 8th grade, so all sizes are welcome! Please just make sure that the items are clean and bagged before you bring them in. Last year, thanks to your generous donations, we collected 30 winter coats and over 150 other warm clothing items, all of which Wilson Foundation distributed to their students in need. This year they are in special need of red and black sweatshirts or fleeces. This is part of the uniform—the building is very cold and many scholars do not have appropriate clothing for the colder weather. So over the holiday break, if you discover that your children have outgrown their winter gear, please consider donating it to our clothing drive, and give the gift of warmth! If you have any questions, please contact Amy Feller at

Wishing you a Season of Hope

Pope Francis said “Being Church means being God’s people, in accordance with the great plan of his fatherly love. This means that we are to be God’s leaven in the midst of humanity. It means proclaiming and bringing God’s salvation into our world, which often goes astray and needs to be encouraged, given hope and strengthened on the way. The Church must be a place of mercy freely given, where everyone can feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live the good life of the Gospel.” [The Joy of Gospel, #114]
