Bishop Kearney Appoints Robbie Murden, Assistant Director of Player Personnel

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (January 14, 2019) – Bishop Kearney is pleased to announce the appointment of Robbie Murden as Assistant Director of Player Personnel, joining Program Operations Director Doug Holewa and Hockey Director Chris Collins to lead the new boys hockey program. Similar to Holewa, Murden comes to Bishop Kearney from South Kent Selects Academy (SKSA) where he served as an Assistant Coach and Economic Forecasting Consultant. While at SKSA, Murden focused specifically on scouting/skill development and is credited with constructing the current U15 SKSA Team. “Robbie’s work ethic, communication skills, and ability to identify talent will be a great addition to our program” Holewa said. “He was a big piece of our success and I am extremely happy to bring him on-board.” The remaining staff members will be announced at a later date.

A Georgetown, Ontario native, Murden graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Econometrics & Quantitative Economics. Amassing 103 points in 92 career games, Murden served as an assistant captain his senior year and led the team to the NCAA Division III Elite 8, breaking the programs’ 99-year-old record for wins in a single season. That season, he received the Jack B. Riffle Award as the top student-athlete in the senior class at Hamilton College, was names to the NESCAC All-Academic Team, and was recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (ACHA) as an All-American Scholar. After graduating in 2017, Murden served as the Director of Hockey Operations for Sun Valley Youth Hockey in Sun Valley, ID where he also served as Head Coach for the U18 Team.
