BISHOP KEARNEY Begins Phase 3 of Construction

Third floor of the Bishop Kearney building continues its transformation into remodeled housing for the Selects Academy girls’ hockey program.  “The rooms are really starting to take shape and we are able to get a better feel for the residence hall.  We are thrilled with the progress we are making and are encouraged by the response from many of the families that have visited our campus”, said Bishop Kearney President Steve Salluzzo.

In addition to the bedrooms, the third floor touts amenities such as a dining room, full kitchen, living room, laundry room, exercise room, coaches’ office and team meeting room.  “Our goal is to make this space as homie as possible while providing the opportunity for the girls to participate in an elite hockey program and obtain a high level academic experience”, said Assistant Coach Julie Knerr.

The girls will be Bishop Kearney students and will follow the normal Bishop Kearney academic rigors. “We are excited for the opportunity to include students from across the United States and Canada into our learning environment.  The opportunity for our students to exchange and express ideas from a variety of backgrounds only enriches the opportunity for learning, which enhances the opportunity for growth”, said Bishop Kearney principal Jason Simoni.

BK will house, educate, and the manage implementation of the hockey program, which begins September 2016.  Click the link below to see the news coverage from Channel 8:
