Bishop Kearney’s own William Heyen has been named a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. William is one of the approximately 34,000 Commended Students around the nation being recognized for his exceptional academic promise. These students place among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 PSAT/NMSQT. A spokesperson from NMSC was quoted saying, “these students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.” We would like to congratulate William on this recognition and we continue to encourage him on his pursuit of academic success.
