UNLOCKING THE SCIENCE BEHIND THROWING A CURVEBALL

Award Winning BK Physics Teacher Rob Burke Kicks Off Lecture Series

 

WHAT:       Science and sports will come together this Friday at Bishop Kearney. Award winning Physics teacher Rob Burke will share the science behind why a curveball curves in the first edition of the school’s new Teacher Lecture Series. Mr. Burke’s lecture is free and open to the public.

Mr. Burke first shared his curveball secrets with his science classes last year as a way to help students better understand scientific concepts while making learning fun and engaging. Students can now be found out on the baseball fields practicing their curveballs and trying to hit Mr. Burke’s famous pitch.

Local little leaguers from around Monroe County, students, faculty, families, baseball/science fans of all ages, and alumni will be in attendance to hear Mr. Burke’s lecture. After the presentation everyone will head out to the baseball field for some batting practice.

WHEN:      Friday, June 3rd  6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Presentation in the library followed by outdoor batting fun for kids and adults of all ages!
