Be Creative

Whether you want to act, sing, or create magic behind the scenes, the theatre program has a role for you!

BK produces an annual Fall play and Spring musical, with students filling roles in both the cast and the stage crew. Rochester-area community members sell out performances in the BK Auditorium, which was recently renovated with all new lighting and sound equipment, staging, and seating.

BK’s theatre productions and student performers have been recognized by the Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s Stars of Tomorrow. And several BK graduates have pursued their passion for the theatre in college, majoring in Performing Arts and Theatre Design and Technology.

BK Fall Play

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
(abridged) [revised] [again]

Actors take on the impossible task of performing all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in one wild, hilarious evening! Expect a fast-paced, side-splitting blend of parody, improv, and audience interaction as the troupe races through comedies, histories, and tragedies with creative shortcuts and outrageous interpretations along the way. Whether you love Shakespeare or snoozed through him in English class, this show promises nonstop laughter and a surprisingly heartfelt tribute to the Bard’s timeless works.

Come to the 2026 Spring Musical

Coming March 2026: Something Rotten!
Something Rotten

Get ready for one of the most hilarious and high-energy musicals ever to hit the Bishop Kearney stage! This spring, BK Theatre proudly presents Something Rotten!  A big, bold Broadway comedy that celebrates creativity, competition, and the chaos of show business.

Set in the Renaissance, the story follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights desperate to outshine their rival - none other than William Shakespeare himself. When a soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting all at once, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world’s very first musical.
Packed with witty wordplay, over-the-top dance numbers, and endless laughs, Something Rotten! is a show for anyone who loves musicals, Shakespeare, or simply a good time.

Join us in March 2026 for this unforgettable production. A celebration of theatre, talent, and BK’s incredible student performers!

The best part is being with the rest of the cast. It’s a really fun atmosphere.
