Through active participation in student life, you will thrive in our community which fosters academic success, social-emotional learning, inclusivity, spiritual growth, and a commitment to serving others.  These experiences will collectively contribute to your overall growth and success, preparing you for a fulfilling and productive future.

House System

If you’ve ever read Harry Potter, you’ve considered which house you would belong to. While we don’t have a sorting hat here in the Muggle world, BK students still get to experience the fun, friendship, and personal growth that the house system brings.

Our motto is "4 Houses, 1 Family." In our diverse school, where students come from local, residential, and international backgrounds, the house system unites us, fostering a strong sense of family and community. Each house represents a small, supportive community within our larger school. Students form bonds and develop a sense of belonging and identity from day one.

You will become part of a school family, working, competing, and serving as part of your house. Throughout the year, houses host friendly competitions and earn points for everything from attendance to GPA based on their achievements in various school-wide fun competitions and challenges.

Be a Leader

The house system also fosters leadership skills. Each house has a leadership team responsible for planning and executing programs that benefit the school. Together, each house participates in a community service project with a focus on a particular local non-profit organization. They support our school by organizing house competitions and special events like food truck rodeos. These projects teach students about non-profits and the importance of community involvement.

Students participate in a Christian leadership class, where they learn the value of serving others.

Maddie Scahill

Providing other students with positive school experiences is so rewarding. I cherished my time in house leadership, ensuring that everyone feels included, valued, and respected.

Be Responsible

Completing community service hours will help you to excel in school by fostering a sense of responsibility, enhancing time management skills, and providing you with real-world experiences that complement your academic accomplishments.

When you engage in service activities you build empathy and teamwork and enrich your understanding of the world.

All students must complete community service hours each year to meet graduation requirements. Middle school students must complete 12 hours annually, while high school students are required to complete 16 hours per year. Summer hours also count towards this requirement. Students fulfill their service hours through various activities, such as painting and repairing facilities at local schools, volunteering as sports camp counselors, helping the needy through church and neighborhood centers, and collecting toys for Golisano Children’s Hospital.
