Offering Grades 6-12
The Admissions process is as simple as 1, 2, 3. Interested in Bishop Kearney? Possibly visit campus and be a King for a Day? Or maybe sign up for a Placement Exam or Open House? It all starts with an Inquiry and following the 3 steps below:
Step 1: Complete the Inquiry
Step 2: After completing your Inquiry check your email!
– You will receive emails with instructions on how to get your password and username. Once your account is set up, this will allow you to track your progress in the enrollment cycle from start to finish (application, King for a Day visit, admissions decision, applying for FACTS/financial aid, enrollment contracts, and re-enrolling next year). Please save your log-in information as you will use this to enroll/register your new student.
Step 3: Complete the online application for admissions for students. This step can only be completed after steps 1 and 2. The admissions committee meets weekly to review admissions applications. The Enrollment Office will send notification of admission status via email after the Admissions Committee review. Check your online account (bkhs.myschoolapp.com) for the decision letter and refer to your online checklist for next steps to finalize the enrollment process.
Applicants entering 6th, 7th or 9th grade should pre-register and sit for the placement exam at Bishop Kearney offered in the late fall or early spring. Pre-register online or by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the admissions office at 342-4000 x246. If a student applies in late spring or summer (after the last placement exam) their acceptance will be evaluated based on the strength of their application and official school transcript.
Notes for Bishop Kearney applicants:
We encourage all applicants to sign up for a King for a Day shadow experience (optional but strongly recommended). A shadow day is an important part of the decision-making process for the prospective applicants. Shadow days are by appointment only and must be set up online after completing your Inquiry Form or by emailing email@example.com or by calling the admissions office at 342-4000 x246.
A transfer applicant is defined as a student who intends to leave his/her current school to enter Bishop Kearney at the start of his/her eighth grade, sophomore or junior year. Except for rare exceptions Bishop Kearney does not accept transfers into senior year.
Transfer applications are handled on a case-by-case basis, and transfer applicants should contact the Admissions office to discuss their specific situation.
Please contact Fred Tillinghast with any questions or to request an information packet. We look forward to the opportunity to meet you and help you to experience what Bishop Kearney has to offer.
