Renewal by Andersen Continues its Strong Support for BK’s Student Community

Rochester, NY – Bishop Kearney High School is proud to announce the completion of its latest student-focused project, the Renewal by Andersen Sport Court. Thanks to the generous support of Renewal by Andersen (RBA), this project will provide Bishop Kearney students with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance their academic, athletic, and spiritual growth.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 4, 2024, was a momentous occasion that celebrated the dedication of the new Sport Court and Pavilion, which have been designed to support a variety of student activities, all while creating a safe and enjoyable environment for physical and social development. More than 500 students and countless alumni will enjoy the sport court each year.

Renewal by Andersen has long been a champion of Bishop Kearney’s mission to provide exceptional places for students to learn, grow, and thrive. RBA's recent contribution funding the construction of the new 34,200-square-foot Sport Court includes three tennis courts, one basketball court, and an inline skating area. Additionally, the project includes a stunning timber-frame pavilion, providing an ideal outdoor gathering space for students.

“The generosity and vision of Renewal by Andersen is helping us continue our tradition of offering spaces where students can excel academically, athletically, and spiritually,” said Paul Colontino, President of Bishop Kearney High School. “This Sport Court and Pavilion will serve as a hub for physical activity and community engagement, and we are deeply grateful for their continued support.”

Project Details:
  • The Sport Court was completed in August 2024, following a summer of construction that included installing new surfaces for tennis, basketball, and inline skating, as well as building a pavilion with picnic tables for outdoor gatherings.
  • The court features USTA regulation tennis lines, a basketball court with durable hoops, and an inline skating surface with a specialized coating for long-lasting performance.
  • A new 10-foot-high black fencing surrounds the courts for safety, with gates and access doors for ease of use.

In recognition of this transformative gift, Bishop Kearney has named the new facility the Renewal by Andersen Sport Court, marking a lasting legacy of support for the school’s students. The signage, designed in collaboration with RBA representatives, was unveiled during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
